Did you know there's an OpenBeta mobile app in development?

OpenBeta

  • Vichy97 provided this update on the Discord #mobile-dev channel yesterday!

Another day, another feature. The main items remaining before release are the profile screen, the about screen (to include open betas mission and the ability to leave feedback or report bugs), the ability to tick climbs and upload images (other editing will come in a future release), and deeplinks. Other than those items, just styling and bug fixes/UI improvements. Getting close to a release!

During a recent trip to the UK, we caught up with none other than Adam Ondra to discuss his past, present and future. We touch upon his early days when he climbed 9a at age 13, his reflections on his unrepeated route Silence (9c), his emotions after his Olympic experience, and what makes him so special. https://www.ukclimbing.com/forums/t.php?n=781383

So there was actually climbing on the Nice climbing trip, too (between the rain... which managed to be both more and less than expected...). La Turbie, as it turns out, felt really kinda sandbagged grade-wise (or maybe I was just sucking?)! But then the fun is in the movement and unlocking the puzzle, not the grade and it was a great trip with a fun bunch; Alesia Sidliarevich (with the excellent catches), Helen Finn, Carole Dawson, and Roy. #climbing #ClimbingIsMyPassion #SportClimbing #LimestoneClimbing #Nice #LaTurbie

The normal way of cutting and melting a rope doesn't work too well with a rope with an aramid core, because it’s fireproof! Here's a simple and unconventional way to get a perfectly sealed cut on an aramid rope. https://www.alpinesavvy.com/blog//how-to-cut-a-kevlar-core-rope
