Instead of yet another meh gift this Christmas, I’d love if you’d check out Stark am BLOK. It’s a grassroots Swiss bouldering project that brings real movement, confidence and connection to kids & teens right where they live .I know the people behind it and they’re doing honest, thoughtful work that actually helps young people grow. 🧗‍️https://www.there-for-you.com/donations/stark-am-blok/#Christmas #Donate #Switzerland #Bouldering #Climbing #Youth #StarkAmBlok #ThereForYou #SwissClimbing #RollingBLOK

Combining palaeontology with rock climbing - ideal for sone one (although one assumes that they will abseil down for further study, but still a head for heights will be a must). It is remarkable they have only just been noticed - can’t be attractive technical rock.https://archive.is/20251216210331/https://www.thetimes.com/world/europe/article/walking-with-dinosaurs-italy-alps-discovery-f7l93sk53#palaeontology #climbing #Italy #fossils #Italy

The AAC’s Climbing Grief Fund has a directory of therapists who are specialists in the unique risks, challenges, joys, and euphoria of outdoor recreation, and are informed practitioners who support climbers experiencing grief and trauma. And though the directory is an invaluable resource when people need support in the face of the most intense kinds of grief and tragedy, these counselors also have expertise in other areas, including sports performance psychology. Because it's all connected–just as grief and trauma impacts our relationship to climbing, so too, does working on resilience, self-compassion, and other mental health skills help us excel at our goals in climbing. In this episode, we have therapist and sports psychologist Neal Palles on to chat about how to practice and stack various mental training techniques and concepts on top of each other to build towards peak performance. We periodize our physical training, and according to Palles, we can apply that same concept to mental skills as well. Dive in! Once you decide to go 'pegless' you are kind of committed, you can't exactly grab a peg if you get tired, and with just cams on your rack it's gonna be a fiddly effort if you fluff a placement to try and clip a peg instead! https://www.ukclimbing.com/forums/t.php?n=782107
