That spot looks fabulous!! When I lived in Asia, I could easily buy PVC, fabric, and buckles for this sort of item since I lived close to "Awning Street", where everything was sold wholesale. They'd happily sell me a 1/2 metre of whatever. Here, everything seems to be factory-made and not available for general use.

Thanks for letting me know that. I think I have a place that sells some of the fabrics. As you say, it's a gamble to buy online and for me, it's a gamble to sew anything that is completely new to me. In the meantime, I have no shortage of projects to complete and commence. Way back during its early days, Our #MountainEquipmentCoop sold fabrics for outdoor activities and my roommate sewed all her own gear. I'll keep my eyes and ears open.

So great to custom-make your own bags like that. I'm confident with small cotton woven bags but haven't found that sort of heavy-duty fabric for outdoor use. I'll keep a lookout.
