Testing belay loops, a really good watch! I'll admit it's one of the reasons I retired my last harness.

This New Crag Was Called the βNext Rumney.β But There Was One Giant Issue3 Jul 2024, 15:15Access issues are an oft-overlooked aspect of #climbing development. Oftentimes we take for granted our right to recreate without considering access or the work route developers have done to prepare a crag for climbing.
Luckily this tale had a happy ending but it reminds me of a similar closure here in #Ontario, Turtle Crag β on private land β that shared many of the aspects as in this closure.
Luckily we still maintain limited access today due to the work of the route developers.

Weekend Whipper: Yikes! Bridge Climber Decks When All His Pieces Pull14 Jun 2024, 15:40I really wonder what the thought process was for this group in preparation for this climb.
Kudos to them for attempting to tackle it, but as someone with absolutely zero #multipitch experience, but interested in trying it... 11 pitches is absolutely insane!
My goals are a little less lofty... a nice two-pitch I can take my time fumbling through sounds like a nice introduction to multipitch.

A Short History of the Climbing Gym8 Jun 2024, 01:21A neat history of how climbing gyms came to be!
Like many climbers starting nowadays, we get our start in gyms and make our way outdoors. A huge concept that made the entire sport much more accessible to regular people like me!
