...So yesterday was "New Roof Day" at @WhiteSpiderClimbing - always a fun time as it doesn't happen so often. So many fun routes and a great set, but 5(ish) laps of the roof didn't leave enough left in the tank to try the hard ones; next time, maybe! Thanks to Jon for the belay, company, and enthusiasm.#Climbing #ClimbingIsMyPassion #IndoorClimbing #LeadClimbing #TheSteeperTheBetter

The teenage Federale slings his machine gun over his shoulder and bends toward my bag. Cocaine? he asks. Marijuana? I have a stash of weed stuffed in an ibuprofen container in the outside zipper of my backpack. No, I say. Josh stands behind me. He doesn’t know about the stash. This? the youth asks. He… https://climbingzine.com/basaseachi-matt-spohn/

I am a writer, too, kinda. I am also writing a novel. I’m working on a novel. I also write. I’ve been working on this novel.   These were the phrases always trotted out when I had a desk job and never had the mental state or time to write. For years, I had countless… https://climbingzine.com/why-climbers-should-write-and-writers-should-climb-by-cyrena-lee/

I hold and turn my helmet like a classroom globe, dragging my fingers over each mark, each sign of wear. Every indent, every groove represents a route, a pitch, a move, a memory. Note: this piece is published in the new Zine, Volume 17, now available to order. In my hands is my beaten-up shield.… https://climbingzine.com/my-helmet-by-david-rozul/
