Yesterday was a good session at the climbing gym. I did around 8 routes, which is more than I usually do. I think I'll need a few more sessions on the 5c+ overhang, but after some flailing around I managed to find an ok position to clip in around the crux. I flashed a 6a+ on top rope, wasn't confident at all, there are two big committing moves. I'll probably rework it a bit before trying to lead it. Tried a 6b for funsies, lots of sloppers and pinches so pretty much my anti-style but I could do a lot of the moves even though by that point I had very little strength left. Also got my arse kicked on the hot pink 6a slab. Truthfully I think this one felt a bit morpho. All in all I know what I have to work on the most : clipping efficiently (to not get too spooked), finding good clipping positions (to not get too spooked) and my mental game (to tolerate a bit more spookiness). It would help to have a more regular partner, right now I'm pretty much climbing with someone new every time which doesn't help with building trust and confidence.#climbing

In this episode, we sit down with THE dynamic duo Pete Takeda and Jason Antin. Pete and Jason recap and expand upon the climbing accidents featured in the January and February Prescription, the AAC’s monthly dose of accident analysis from our annual book, Accidents in North American Climbing. Then, they answer audience questions that stemmed from their original analysis. We explore questions like what are the pros and cons of stacked rappels—and sidebar into some misunderstandings about simulrapping. We also explore what happens when old stiff cams are put in wet and grimy cracks, and the alternative uses for old gear. If you’ve left a comment on our Prescription videos, or written into the accidents email inbox, we may just have answered your questions! Dive in to hear about these topics and more. Pete Takeda is the editor of Accidents in North American Climbing. Jason Antin is an IFMGA/AMGA guide. Together, they are the experts behind the AAC’s most popular media—our monthly Prescription email and video. Get it straight to your inbox when you sign up for AAC emails below! Interesting article about climbing and OCD.Fear is certainly a big part of the sport, particularly lead climbing, and learning to deal constructively with fear is one of the most rewarding parts. https://www.climbing.com/culture-climbing/what-it-feels-like-to-climb-with-obsessive-compulsive-disorder/#Climbing #OCD #Fear
