Want to boost the strength of your rigging? Simply doubling the strands into a basket hitch can dramatically increase the strength, which could be helpful in some situations. See the test results here. https://www.alpinesavvy.com/blog/need-a-stronger-anchor-try-a-basket-hitch

In this week's Friday Night Video, a strong team of boulderers from across the pond join up with the likes of Aidan Roberts and Dan Varian for a trip to Fairhead. For the Americans, Fairhead has always been fairly under-the-radar but they quickly discover the quality rock was well worth all the travel. https://www.ukclimbing.com/forums/t.php?n=776234

In this episode, we had Live Your Dream grant recipient John Thompson on the pod to tell us all about his trip to Denali! Our Live Your Dream grant is our most popular grant, and it’s powered by The North Face. John’s LYD story is about feeling a sense of urgency–how now is the time to explore and pursue big adventures. A strong sense of carpe diem. After nearly a decade away from Denali, John returned, only to get caught up in helping with a rescue, and not getting to pursue his goal route because of weather conditions. We sat down with John to hear about his grant experience, the rescue he helped with, his journey falling away from climbing and coming back to it, how guiding shaped his climbing, and why it meant so much to be standing on the top of Denali once again. https://americanalpineclub.org/news/2024/9/25/connect-summiting-denali-living-the-dream

Looks like there was some drama after the #climbing events in the #olympics that I wasn't aware of. I do agree route setters may have been a bit sketchy, and I did felt bad for Mori being so short, but I guess it was about style, and in the next Olympics, boulder and lead will be sepparated which is great, boulders aren't solved the same way as lead.In conclusion:"You send, or you bend. Over" xDThis won't stop me from complaining though, I'm short too lolhttps://youtu.be/RN5DhAruF3k?si=zaGayg3ekMOGXKwl
