Arriving at an bolt anchor with a small stance? Clip a quick draw to the bolt, and then either clip or clove hitch yourself to the draw. This secures you while you build the rest of the anchor. Use the top carabiner of the quick draw as part of the anchor. See a step-by-step and photo sequence for both multi pitch and top rope. C is for climbing… but also for Champion. During the 2009 fall Himalaya climbing season, I got an incredible invitation to join a climbing team for an attempt on Pumori, sponsored by Champion Hanesbrands. (The game of gossip telephone in the Khumbu region that season was about the underwear model climbing Pumori — I was neither an underwear model, nor did I climb Pumori. The route was far more technical than my skills appropriate for, and altitude sickness kept me no higher than this — the summit of Kala Patthar. But my word what a trip. I’m sure other pics from that trip will show up here as the alphabet goes on. I wish I still had my old glory days climbing pictures. I was so young, so fit, so strong. So scared. So so scared. I’ve learned so much about emotional regulation and fear and stress and performance … I can’t believe I did as much as I did as scared as I did in those climbing days. #meAtoZ #climbing #travel #adventure #nepal #himalaya

Long before we decide, the path is carved for us. Sliced through existence to be forged for this one, and beyond. The goals we strive for in this life, the roles we thrive in, the roads we stride on, all to guide us through the night of our own inner selves, as we run from… https://climbingzine.com/arnos-dragon-by-devin-dabney-a-poem/
