As the year wraps up, here's the last climbing stop of the road trip uninterrupted by injury (rip my pulleys during the hueco revisit). Joshua tree felt a lot less tall after bishop, but I'm very bad at crack climbing. #bouldering #climbing

#FootpathFriday It's under there, I promise. CMD Arete, with Ben Nevis summit on the right. My son and brother-in-law descending part of the ridge - we'd done an overnight camp just before this point, and were just getting going again after a fairly muzzy awakening. There are times it's a bit of a struggle getting out of a warm sleeping bag, but we still had the summit to ourselves before anyone else turned up.We tobogganed down the other side to about 500m off Glen Nevis valley floor - possibly the easiest descent I've ever had off The Ben.#Mountains #Climbing #SomeRiskInvolved

If it wasn’t for Middendorf, your portaledges would collapse in storms and Camp 4 would be a parking lot. He was also a prolific first ascentionist, a devoted father, and a loving husband. https://www.climbing.com/people/remembering-john-middendorf/

After getting dropped off by plane in a narrow, threatened valley, the “easiest” way back to civilization was up the giant East Face of Mount Hunter. https://www.climbing.com/news/new-climbing-route-mount-hunter-alaska-one-way-out/

“Life can be rugged and cold, or smooth and exciting. The climb these two have just performed today symbolizes life and all of its trials and excitements,” read our officiant. “…All love is enclosed in our love: / all thirst ends in our embrace,” I read, starting an excerpt from “Ode and Burgeonings” by Pablo… https://climbingzine.com/long-life-endures-climber-wedding-sara-aranda/
