@rasterweb@mastodon.social cool! Can you ask your daughter how she gets shots of people mid-route?
Most regular people get shots from the ground (lots of butt shots lol)
I've anchored at the top to take top-down shots. That's better, but the angle can rather extreme.
I'm excited to experiment with self lining to get mid-route shots without the need of a belayer.

@devnull I will ask... She has mentioned that at least once she was dangling with a camera strapped to her.
The sad thing is I don't get to see many photos of her climbing! She does share a few snapshots her partners grab every now and then though.

@devnull From Maddy: "The short answer is, climb up first with camera!"
Long answer: "Some of the shots are on multi pitches, where I followed up a route after someone else lead it. In these cases, I am on a small ledge. Some of the shots, I climb up first and then am dangling. The proper way to do it is to set a fixed line and jug up it. I now have the right gear for that and now how to do it, but in some of the picture I took, I go up, set up an anchor up top, hang off of it, and shoot."
