Ran a short rope protection and security course for some hill walking and scrambling friends of mine today. Included improvised harnesses, Italian hitch, clove hitch, assisted hoist, anchors, rappelling, classic belay, belays, prusicks, basic rescue and more. Hopefully everyone came away more confident about having to deal with an emergency situation. Went climbing today for the first time in ages. The extra weight I put on at Christmas was definitely having an effect on how well my arms were working at hauling my lump up the wall. (And I already suffer with a disproportionate body weight to muscle strength ratio!) I did a lot better than I anticipated, and stayed for longer, so wins all around.#climbing #bouldering
